About me

My name is Laura Román and I am 36 years old.

I am from Comodoro Rivadavia, a beautiful city on the coast of the Province of Chubut. I live there with my husband Lucas and my two children, Tomás (11 years old) and Juan Martín (18 months old). 

How it all began

I started studying English when I was 10 years old. I wanted to study French, instead, but my wise mother said English was better and she enrolled me in the classes anyway. I was quite angry at the beginning, but the first class Miss Laura, my first teacher, welcomed me with such sweetness and delivered such a motivating lesson, that I fell in love with the language and quickly found out it came easy to me. Later on in high school, my classmates would ask me for help before tests and I found myself explaning grammar to 10 of them at brakes right before the exams. They said, "You're good at explaning. You should be a teacher." I already knew I wanted to be a teacher, but I was not sure of the subject. And there began my long journey into teaching.
